Press Release | Torrey Smith to Host 5th Annual Charity Basketball Game


Torrey Smith, wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers and founder of the Torrey Smith Foundation, hosts the 5th Annual Torrey Smith Charity Basketball Game at Royal Farms Arena on Saturday, April 2nd at 3:00 pm.

Smith along with several current and former NFL players and local celebrities will participate in a friendly basketball game, all in the name of charity. In addition to the game, there will be a Fan Zone, giveaways, live entertainment during halftime, and fun for the entire family. Past celebrities in attendance include players like Smith, Anquan Boldin, Joe Flacco, Joe Haden, Jacoby Jones, Lardarius Webb, and many more. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Torrey Smith Foundation.

Torrey will be awarding four college scholarships in his late brother Tevin Jones’ name and memory.

This is Smith’s fifth Charity Basketball Game. “It’s my favorite Foundation Event,” says Smith. “We’ve been getting bigger and better. We used to hold it in my hometown, and two years ago we were at my alma mater, University of Maryland, and this year we wanted to bring it to Baltimore.”

“Chanel and I are excited to be hosting the game in Baltimore,” Smith comments. “This is our first big event since heading out West. We look forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces.”
