Torrey Smith Foundation Community Pledge
Torrey Smith, wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers and founder of the Torrey Smith Foundation, continues to make good on his pledge to his hometown of Fredericksburg, VA and the Baltimore community with three events in five days. Smith, will host a free L.E.V.E.L. Up (Leadership Education Vision Effort and Love) Camp at Stafford High School on Saturday, July 25th and will return to Baltimore on Monday, July 27th for a Back to School Fun Fest at Gardenville Elementary School. He began the community activities on Thursday, July 23rd by unveiling the foundation’s fourth Reading Oasis at Moravia Park Elementary.
The L.E.V.E.L. Up Camp is a free a multi-sport camp for 300 children ages 6–12 at his alma mater, Stafford High School. There will be four stations including football, basketball, soccer and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
The Back to School Fun Fest will serve 250 elementary students at Gardenville Elementary. The foundation will provide backpacks and supplies for the school year. The supplies are geared towards the student’s respective grade level. In addition, the Torrey Smith Foundation will deliver supplies to teachers.
The Reading Oasis at Moravia Park Elementary School will service 344 students and provide them access to over 1,200 age-appropriate books, computers, and a comfortable and safe place to read.
All the of the events are made possible through PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc., Walmart, The Home Depot Foundation, Papa John’s International, Inc., Scholastic, Pepsi, Pixilated, and Artist Shawn Forton.

The mission of the Torrey Smith Foundation is to better the lives of children by providing educational support, opportunities and resources. The current programs include: Torrey’s Reading Oasis, Torrey’s Back to School Program, Torrey’s Turkey Day, Teaming Up With Torrey, and the Tevin Jones Scholarship Fund. The Foundation will remain based in Baltimore, and has plans to expand to the Bay area.
